So I just read the last chapter of Deadman Wonderland and let's be honest I'm going to say it was a rather weak ending... Shiro and Ganta's fight wasn't played out... the side characters were vaguely tallking about Ganta... we don't know which Shiro it is... but again it's bias... (like when Hitman Reborn or Eyeshield 21 finished ._.). But honestly the story was very compelling, action packed every page, funny lively interestingly backstories etc. if (imo) a little rushed.
Asides from this from my own life outside of manga (what a dull life it be) I finally got properly sun burnt (shins/calf and forehead... ikr? Why only there) but had a quite fun time in Brighton. I'm also reading through Watashi ni Shinsai xx for some reason thought I am finding... it a bit dull in comparison to DW. O O O! I also started Baby Steps (on chapter 105... 2 days in gawd I need to learn pacing) which is imo a more realistic version of prince of tennis focusing on a char that learns to use his few gifts to the max (a bit of artistic over exaggeration is to be expected though). >_> I really can't not talk about manga xD!
Anyway hope to update myself soon n_n less than 3 (totally ripped from nigahiga yes)

Team Medical Dragon... I wish I was Asada
OK a quick post since I just learnt about 5 things that would help me in med school.
All aspiring surgeons who like manga... read the aforementioned manga, it has a running drama inside it and gives insight into Japanese medical politics as well as using lingo that you should become familar with e.g. what does MAP stand for? What is fentanyl? Yes you can wiki it but it's more interesting in manga form. Big thanks to livelyscans.com for actually adding these in the T/N.
Have a fun weekend n_n!

Why manga is the best tool for procrastination...
EF- A Fairy Tail of the Two, yay for manga!
*in clockwise order Chihiro-chan, Mizuki-chan, Kei-chan and Miyamura-chan, Center is Hiruma-san and Yuuko-chan n_n*
So I've just read the first 49 chapters of a romantic manga... why? Because I was bored, but also because the manga had very compelling characters and a well thought out 'quirk'.
The manga I've just caught up with is EF- A Fairy Tale of the Two and *SPOILER ALERT* focuses on girls who find boyfriends (yeah totally a man's manga this >_>) anyway thus far they have explored 4 male protagonists; a mangaka, a film director/shooter, a novelist and next up a musician. As you can see the manga goes for the 'arts'. However the art is used very differently between the first 3 and the girls/guy protagonists have very different personalities.
I don't really know whether this is gonna be a review post or a commentary post and I want to read it in more detail but I'll give a synopsis and follow it up with a rating + commentary (which'll be highly biased xP).
Basically 'Chapter 1' centers on a mangaka Hirono and his childhood friend Kei. She likes him but he's dense and doesn't notice. Suddenly we are introduced to Miyamura who is a free spirit and starts to steal Hirono away. In this arc/chapter/thing The 'art subject' is used as a medium to convey admiration of hard work and development of trust. That's a good brief summary with as little spoiler as I can manage.
Anyway the next chapter focuses on... let's call her HB-chan. She becomes the object of a male we encounter in chapter 1 and is pursued. She has a fairly reserved personality compared to Miyamura and the male protagonist here is a toned-down Miyamura. The medium here is used to bring the characters together and to convey the feelings the male feels towards HB-chan.
And Finally the most recent (and I admit only one where I didn't skip any chapters) is Chihiro and Renji. This is the sweetest one of the 3 but maybe a bit rushed. The medium here is used as a reflection of Chihiro-chan and as a way and reason for them to meet. I only wish we had a bit more of an 'epilogue'.
Next up is Kuze and Mizuki and I can only hope that it continues in the same vein.
Quite honestly I'd score this near on perfect for a romantic manga, storywise. The art left alot to be disired and the gags were fairly cliched but the main plot and usage of different personalities, events and themes/'arts' was very well thought out. It was paced nicely and the recurrence of Yuuko and now Hiruma (no relation to Eyeshield 21!) is intriguing and I can't help feel that they have a back story we'll have to either figure out or will get in part 5. Personally romantic manga are not part of my staple reading but I have read quite a few in my time; Ai Kora, No Bra, Bakuman, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Good Ending etc. and they were all very... manga. What I mean is that they didn't have a very 'realistic' feel, asides GE (which I liked alot). Also alot of the time the male gets with the female I don't like... like in arc 1 I actually would have preferred Kei to win out (sorry spoiler >_<), in GE Shou-chan's loss was really painful and in Ai Kora Yukari was who I was rooting for >_<!!! (she is essentially the Hinata of Naruto which again I'm rooting for NaruHina 4eva!).
*cough cough* Anyway off topic. EF is a good manga I recommend it as a light romantic story good weekend read if you hate hot weather and outdoors like me!
PS: Guess who just discovered that this has been adapted to an anime (up till Renji-Chihiro)!! That's my Sunday/lab time sorted n_n!

I'm on a typing roll! Review of the Nano Fusion Speed 722, Sirenia's new album aaaaand the latest chapters of manga
So post number 2 and I've decided the best things come in 3 and so I'll review 3 things that neatly sum me up very well; my favourite sport, my favourite genre and my favourite past-time.
I've just received this from a seller in Malaysia and so haven't played with it yet, but I've given it a quick couple of swings and also my 'living-room-wall-drive-test' i.e. hitting it really hard and fast against my living room wall to see if it's a good responsive racket and annoying my neighbours no doubt. I also love the Apacs brand, having bought upwards of 12 rackets from them, they are carbon, good quality, sturdy and can be strung to really high tensions.
I play a defensive net game with periods of continuous backcourt smashing so I'm really lost as to which rackets I should use, pure power or light touch? I go for the latter alot as my racket choices show; Apacs Nano 9900 (x8), Apacs Nanotubes 9990, Yonex Nanoray 700RP, Dunlop Bioimetic Max XL (x2). All head light, all my preferred choice. However my split personality shows up too with my other rackets; Apacs Nano Power 900 (x3), Yonex Arcsaber Z-slash and awaiting my Apacs Lethal 6. All head heavy (MORE POWERRRR!!!!!! ~Jeremy Clarkson).
The stats for the racket are:
Weight and grip: 6U G2
Balance: Head light
Flex: Medium to high flex (my opinion)
Style: Defensive
So my initial thoughts were 'gosh this looks sexy!', I have this strung at 26lbs (like all rackets I purchase) with black string and black PU grip. The racket itself is black and yes I am slightly OCD about matching colours. So it looks good.
Like I've said I have just swung it a bit and rallied myself (forever alone ;~;) and it feels fast. you'd expect that, it's very light but compared to the rest of my rackets it is fast fast. I am so looking forward to playing with it and returning smashes. The reaction is good and you almost think your way through shots. I found myself having time to take 2 swings at a drive shot and up to 4 for a delayed lift.
Anyway I'll come back after playing and do a comparison with my current favourite (Nanoray 700RP).
My rating: 2/5~ I liked some of it but I prefer softer vocals >_<!
I speak to you now watching the Gentlemens doubles Wimbledon final and listening to this album (really makes it look like an epic war xD). Anyway, contrary to many people's opinions I really liked the last Sirenia album, The Enigma of Life. It spoke to me lyrically and didn't have alot of vocal strains, the music was calming and then fast at the right times. Maybe you disagree but meh my right to an opinion.
This album is a huge contrast. Ailyn said that for this she went to refine her vocal skills with an operatic group and you can see where this is shown. Whereas on the previous album her voice was general stable and at a 'comfortable' range for this she goes extremely high pitched for the opening 'Ducere Me In Lucem' and carried it well. The next was Seven Widows Weep, fast paced drumming, lots of growls and her voice almost lost in the main portion from the music, towards the end she had a solo part which I think was great her range being shown well.
Next was probably my favourite track from the album, My Destiny Coming to Pass, her voice being shown off to great effect, the chorus accompanied with her swelling up and followed by deep... not wailing but you know what I mean (pleasant wailing?!), didn't really like the growling near the end (never do >_>) but still a good track. Ditt Endelikt was a male vocalised (by Morten?) song in what I think was Norwegian (don't shoot me) it was nice but not really why I listen to female fronted symphonic metal bands.
Anyway the rest of the album proceeded with Ailyn singing words far longer than needed and lots of growling, fair to say I didn't presonally like this all too much and hope they go back to making some softer songs (again my opinion so xP). The album overall gave my eardrums a pounding and that's the issue I take with it. The female vocals were not soothing as they are in let's say Darkened Days To Come, Fallen Angel, or Within Temptation's- Stairway To The Skies, Delain's-Babylon (really trying to use recent songs I could name so many from previous works!!!) etc. I personally listen to Symphonic Metal for the balance between the metal and drums+guitar to be balanced by the singer softening it and almost hugging you lyrically and vocally so sorry Sirenia but >_< please go back to Enigma!
Nano Fusion Speed 722 racket review
Firstly the Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 (shortened to NFS722):I've just received this from a seller in Malaysia and so haven't played with it yet, but I've given it a quick couple of swings and also my 'living-room-wall-drive-test' i.e. hitting it really hard and fast against my living room wall to see if it's a good responsive racket and annoying my neighbours no doubt. Sirenia- Perils of the Deep Blue review
My rating: 2/5~ I liked some of it but I prefer softer vocals >_<!

Manga Chapters- Fairy Tail, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, The World God Only Knows, The Breaker: New Waves, Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru, Piano no Mori~ SPOILER ALERT!
OK final portion and if you've read this far, you're as bored as me well done!
So FT came out with a 3 chapter special to celebrate winning the Dai Matou Enbu, beating evil Future Rogue, stopping dragons and so on. Woo-could'vebeenbetter-hoo. Honestly the arc was coming to a major point and Hiro Mashima just stopped it >_<! The arc was I admit full of so many 1-2-1s but I like that. The Erza-Kagura-Minerva fight was epic. Laxus vs Jura. Natsu vs Sting. I could go on... so I shall. Gajeel vs Rogue. Erza vs the Pandemonium monsters. So good!!!!!!!!! (fanboy squeel!!!) anyway then the arc took a turn to plotting and time warps etc. Dragons came then poof they went >_>. Like WTF!!!!!! we had the chance to see the Dragon Slayers go up against the dragons and lose/win/learn/get OP whatever. The arc had alot of fight in it, why end it so abruptly?! With a "and Natsu crashes into the gate to send everything back to the way it was" >_> really? Come on we had a pervy dragon >_< y u no keep him? I can only hope that in the next arc Zeref brings dragons else Hiro has seriously missed out on what I think is a great set of characters.
HSDK is plodding along with new enemies coming and small gags. The loss of (my opinion) mid-level character Tanaka and switching of sides of Rimi (isn't she so moe n_n!) and Ryuuto is over, Shizune is making armour, blinds us with impressive 'step-of-forging' and comedically sends Kenichi away saying that he'd have to train with Apachai and Sai. Filler chapter not much to say.
TWGOK is entering a very interesting portion of this arc with Keima being threatened (physically too >3<) by Kaori-chan. Will she turn out to be a Tsundere Childhood Friend or Mistress of a Western House (pg5 reference)? Certainly she could become a very good enemy and I look forward to how Keima is gonna try to (and really I hope kinda fail at first at least) conquer her.
TB:NW ended on a cliffhanger. Two of the 10 Masters of Murim are facing off. Elder Kwon being badass. Shi-Woon Yi apparently out of it (I suspect not though but his OP powerup is a bit unexplainable) sets this up to be a good little sequence.
KSKM opened to Minami facing off vs Black Leopard who looks like he's about to murder our beloved ramen chef T-T.
PnM (quick recap cuz I'm gonna head out about now to play pool) basically just emphasized how amazing Wei Pang's playing is and sets up Kai for a big choke up (for his first piece) and will his suspected hand injury flare up? DUN-DUN-DUN
Hope you liked my LOOOOOOOOOOOONG post xD certainly got that need to write stuff out of me. Might give a small update when I get back on 2 other manga I'm reading (Team Medical Dragon and Freezing new chapters!).
PS: I'm gonna do a post next time of lists of stuff that I read for mainly my own benefit =3=
Wacky Wimbledon and Welcome!
Firstly hi! I have no idea what possessed you to read this (I don't really know why I'm typing it tbh but it's summer. I'm bored and lonely so why not xP)
A small intro and what I'll be posting about. I'm an average British Asian (Chinese to be exact). I do alot of stereotypical things; badminton, study etc. but I like to think I have certain quirks which I'll discuss in later posts. I also expect that I'll post alot right now and fade as the academic year starts.
Anyway onto today's main event- Wimbledon women's singles- Bartoli vs Lisicki~ SPOILER ALERT!
So Marion Bartoli wins the women's singles and honestly I think it's right. This is the weirdest Wimbledon we've seen in recent times, the top players in the men's and women's singles; Nadal, Federer, Azarenka, Sharapova and Serena all out before the semi's and the winner turns up as the weirdest player of all! (in playing style if nothing else). She uses a two-handed approach to all shots, argues with the FTA (I think they're called that) and had her father as a coach all her life.
PS: if the last paragraph reads weird it's cuz I typed that first >_> before thinking maybe an intro would be expected
